Computing

At Stowting Church of England Primary School, we provide our pupils with a comprehensive and inspiring Computing curriculum that prepares them for the digital world. We recognise that, as a school, we have a responsibility to prepare the pupils for their future by improving their knowledge of and understanding of how imperative technology is as an aid to learning and the real world beyond school.

Our Computing curriculum introduces children to the exciting world of technology from an early age. Through hands-on activities, pupils learn the fundamentals of computer science, including coding, algorithms, and data handling. We use a variety of tools and platforms that are both engaging and age-appropriate, allowing children to experiment, create, and bring their ideas to life.

In today’s digital age, it’s crucial for students to become confident and responsible users of technology. We teach digital literacy as an integral part of our curriculum, helping children to understand how to use technology safely and responsibly. From online safety to understanding the impact of digital footprints, the lessons equip students with the knowledge they need to navigate the digital world with care and confidence.

Computing at Stowting is all about fostering a love of learning and encouraging innovation. Whether they are debugging a piece of code, designing a simple game, or exploring the principles of animation, our pupils are continually challenged to think critically and solve problems creatively. These skills not only prepare them for future technological advancements but also contribute to their overall academic success. By developing strong digital skills and a deep understanding of technology, we empower our students to become the innovators and leaders of tomorrow.
