Design and Technology
At Stowting School we feel that Design Technology is about providing opportunities for children to use creativity and imagination to design and make products that solve real and relevant problems, considering their own and others' needs, wants and values. Children are encouraged to be innovative and take risks as individuals or as part of groups.
The Design Technology curriculum at Stowting School aims to develop the creative, technical and practical expertise needed for pupils to perform everyday tasks confidently and to participate successfully in an increasingly technological world. We believe that Design Technology lessons should develop curiosity in the environment around us. Design Technology combines skills, knowledge, concepts and values to enable children to tackle real - life problems. It can improve analysis, problem solving, practical capability and evaluation skills. Through the DT curriculum, children could be inspired to be engineers, designers, chefs, architects and more.
Through evaluating and testing their ideas and products pupils will be able to investigate their own interests.
